What's wrong?
The electric brake harness on 2015-2023 Doosan Portable Power Mobile Generator trailers supplies power to the trailer's electric service brakes. Those brakes need that power when the tow vehicle calls for braking, so the trailer helps slow itself instead of relying only on the tow vehicle. The battery disconnect switch has a different job: it isolates battery power when the unit is shut down or serviced.
On affected trailers, the brake harness was connected to the positive distribution post on the battery disconnect switch instead of the positive battery cable terminal. When the disconnect switch is turned off, that connection removes power from the electric brakes. The corrected setup moves the harness to the positive battery cable terminal so the brake circuit keeps its proper power path.
There is no warning sign before failure. An owner or operator will not get a separate brake warning before the trailer brakes lose power when the disconnect switch is off.

What happens at the repair
Until the final repair is open, owners are instructed to immediately stop towing the affected trailers. Once available, a Doosan Portable Power technician will correct the brake wiring so the electric brake harness is connected to the correct battery power point instead of the battery disconnect switch. Parts and labor are free under the recall. Doosan Portable Power's standard reimbursement plan is on file for documented related repairs paid before the recall notice. Keep repair paperwork and ask Doosan Portable Power customer service how to submit a claim.

Frequently asked questions
What is recall 24V230?
Recall 24V230 covers 960 2015-2023 Doosan Portable Power Mobile Generator trailers with an electric brake harness wired through the battery disconnect switch. When that switch is off, the trailer brakes are deenergized and will not engage, increasing crash risk. Dealers will correct the wiring for free.
What should I do if my 2015-2023 Doosan Portable Power Mobile Generator is on this recall?
Check your VIN to confirm your specific trailer is included in recall 24V230. If it is, do not tow the trailer until the wiring repair is complete. Contact a franchised Doosan Portable Power dealer, or call Doosan customer service at 1-800-633-5206, and reference recall 24V230.
Is the recall repair free?
Yes. Federal recall law requires the manufacturer to repair the defect at no cost, and Doosan Portable Power dealers will correct the brake-harness wiring free of charge. The recall repair applies even if the trailer was bought used.
Is it safe to tow this Mobile Generator trailer?
Do not drive or tow the affected trailer until the dealer completes the wiring repair. The brake harness defect can leave the trailer brakes without power when the battery disconnect switch is off, so the brakes will not engage and crash risk increases.
When were owners notified about recall 24V230?
Doosan Portable Power mailed owner notification letters on April 3, 2024. If you never received a letter, check your VIN because ownership records and used-equipment sales do not always put the current owner on the first mailing list.
