What's wrong?
The fuel pump on 2018-2024 Honda GL1800, CBR600RR, and CBR1000RR motorcycles moves gasoline from the tank to the engine at the pressure the engine needs. Inside that pump, the impeller is a small rotating part that helps push fuel through the pump body. The engine depends on steady fuel flow to start, idle, and keep power under load.
On these motorcycles, the impeller was molded at too low a density. When its surface is exposed to production solvent drying for longer periods, the surface can crack. Those cracks let the impeller absorb too much fuel, which makes it deform. A deformed impeller can rub against the fuel pump body until the pump stops working.
Owners can notice intermittent loss of power, difficulty starting, or stalling. Those are warning signs that fuel delivery is already being interrupted.

What's the safety risk?
Fuel pump failure can stall the engine while riding and increase the risk of a crash. Warning signs include intermittent power loss, difficulty starting, or stalling. If any of these happen, stop riding when safe and arrange service. Repair is free at any franchised Honda dealer.

What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Honda technician inspects the fuel pump module and replaces it if the inspection shows it is affected by the impeller defect. The recall repair is free, including parts and labor. Honda's standard reimbursement plan covers documented expenses for owners who already paid out of pocket for the same fuel pump module repair. Bring your repair invoice, payment proof, and related service paperwork to the Honda service desk or contact Honda customer service for claim instructions.
