Recall 24V110 covers 261,257 2015-2020 Audi A3, GTI, Golf, Golf Sportwagen, and Jetta vehicles. Repair is free at any franchised Audi dealer.
Audi is recalling 261,257 front-wheel-drive 2015-2020 A3, GTI, Golf, Golf Sportwagen, and Jetta vehicles because a suction jet pump seal inside the fuel tank can let fuel enter the EVAP system and leak from the charcoal canister. A fuel leak near an ignition source increases fire risk, and the dealer repair will be free once available.

What's wrong?
The suction jet pump sits inside the fuel tank assembly on the 2015-2020 A3, GTI, Golf, Golf Sportwagen, and Jetta vehicles covered by this recall. Its job is to move fuel inside the tank so the fuel system can feed the engine while the evaporative emissions system captures fuel vapors in the charcoal canister instead of venting them outside.
On affected front-wheel-drive vehicles, seal rings inside the suction jet pump were assembled with too much tension. That process can damage the seals. When the seals do not hold, liquid fuel can enter the evaporative emissions system. If that system floods, fuel can leak out through the charcoal canister filter element.
Owners can notice refueling problems before the leak shows up. The fuel nozzle can shut off early, fuel can spill back during refueling, or a fuel odor can be noticed by the driver or passengers.

What's the safety risk?
A fuel leak near an ignition source increases the risk of a fire. Fuel odor, spillback, or a fuel nozzle that shuts off early during refueling is a warning sign to stop fueling, keep ignition sources away, and schedule service soon. Repair will be free at any franchised Audi dealer once available.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2015-2020 Audi A3, GTI, Golf, Golf Sportwagen, or Jetta is included in this recall.
- Contact Audi customer service at 1-800-893-5298 if you have not received the owner letter or need help identifying the right dealer path.
- Ask a franchised Audi dealer about the free suction-pump replacement that fixes the fuel-tank seal problem linked to EVAP system fuel leaks.
- Bring the recall notice if you have it. If not, reference recall number 24V110 when you call.
- Avoid parking near ignition sources if you smell fuel, and arrange dealer service before regular use.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, an Audi technician will replace the suction pump in the fuel tank. The final dealer repair will be free once available, with parts and labor covered under recall 24V110. Vehicles repaired under the earlier 16V-647 recall still need the new remedy for this expanded recall. Volkswagen and Audi offer a reimbursement plan for this campaign. If you already paid for a related suction pump or fuel tank repair, ask Audi customer service or the dealer service desk how to submit reimbursement documentation under that plan.
