What's wrong?
The retractable awning on the 2023 Jayco Solstice Li, Solstice, Expanse, and Expanse Li motorhomes is supposed to stay locked in its stored position while the motorhome is moving. Its small box left hand motor assembly drives the awning in and out, and the gearbox housing keeps the motor's internal parts supported while the awning is retracted.
On affected motorhomes, the problem is inside that awning motor and gearbox housing assembly. The repair adds a support piece, called a wedge by the awning supplier, to hold the internal components in place. Without that added support, the awning can extend unintentionally during transit instead of remaining secured against the side of the motorhome.
There is no warning sign before failure. If the awning starts moving while you are driving, or if it does not stay fully retracted, stop when safe and have a Jayco dealer inspect it.

What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Jayco technician installs a wedge to support the internal components inside the retractable awning gearbox. The technician also replaces the awning motor if the repair inspection shows it is needed. The recall repair is available now, and parts and labor are free of charge. If you paid for this repair before the recall notice, Jayco's recall reimbursement plan covers eligible prior repairs. Bring receipts or repair paperwork to the service desk when you ask about reimbursement.
