What's wrong?

The quarter glass on the 2024 Nissan Murano is the fixed side glass near the rear of the vehicle, behind the side doors. It is bonded to the body with urethane adhesive, a strong sealant that holds the glass in place and helps seal out water and wind noise. The primer prepares the glass and body surface so that adhesive bonds correctly.

On affected Muranos, the incorrect primer was used during quarter glass installation. That primer can weaken the bond between the body and the quarter glass assembly. Once the bond is compromised, the left or right quarter glass can loosen and detach from the vehicle body.

Owners can notice more wind noise from the quarter glass area before separation. A rattle from the side glass area is another warning sign that the glass is no longer held as designed.

What's the safety risk?
