What's wrong?
The 2024 Coachmen Nova uses an ASME LP tank to store propane for the motorhome's LP gas system. The bleeder valve and liquid level remote fill gauge help control and verify the tank level during propane service. When the valve is closed and fitted correctly, propane stays contained in the tank and related fill hardware.
In NHTSA campaign 24V034, the issue is the bleed valve installed in the remote fill gauge assembly. The supplier bulletin identified gauges with part number 11045B stamped on the side and a discharge hole in the hand wheel. Forest River's review found that the valve had been installed into LPG tanks outside the specification and rating for that valve. When the gauge is in the "Open" position, the valve can leak LP gas instead of sealing the tank hardware.
The warning sign is smell. An operator can notice the smell of LP gas near the LP tank mounted under the vehicle.
