Recall 23V889 covers 2,100 2012-2024 Prevost X3-45, X3-45 Commuter, H3-45, and H3-41 vehicles for dim wheelchair-lift beacons. Free repair at any franchised Prevost dealer.
Prevost is recalling 2,100 2012-2024 X3-45, X3-45 Commuter, H3-45, and H3-41 vehicles because the red beacon lighting on the wheelchair lift threshold warning system is not bright enough. Dim beacons are harder for wheelchair lift users to see and increase injury risk; the Prevost dealer repair will be free once available.

What's wrong?
The Threshold Warning System on these 2012-2024 Prevost X3-45, X3-45 Commuter, H3-45, and H3-41 coaches is part of the wheelchair lift area. Its red beacon lights are supposed to warn a person near the lift threshold that the lift area needs attention before the platform is used.
The issue is in the Ricon Threshold Warning System kit installed on the affected coaches. Each red beacon uses two incandescent bulbs, and the bulb wattage is not strong enough to produce the 20 candela minimum light intensity required for the platform lift system. That means the beacon is installed and working as a light, but it is not bright enough to meet the safety standard.
There is no warning sign before failure. An owner or operator would not get a separate alert that the red beacon is below the required brightness, so the problem is handled through the recall repair.

What's the safety risk?
When red beacons do not provide proper illumination, wheelchair lift users have less visual warning around the lift area, increasing the risk of injury. There is no warning sign before this lighting problem affects visibility, so schedule the recall work and use extra care around the lift until it is fixed. Repair will be free at any franchised Prevost dealer once available.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2012-2024 Prevost X3-45, X3-45 Commuter, H3-45, or H3-41 is included in this recall.
- Contact a franchised Prevost dealer to ask whether the free red-beacon replacement for the wheelchair-lift warning system is ready for your vehicle.
- Reference recall number 23V889 when you call Prevost or the dealer.
- Bring the owner letter if Prevost mailed one to you.
- Use extra care around the wheelchair lift until the repair is complete because dim red beacons are harder for lift users to see.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Prevost technician replaces the red beacons in the Threshold Warning System so the lift warning lights meet the recall repair requirement. The dealer repair will be free once available, with parts and labor covered. Prevost says customers who already inspected and corrected this defect before the safety recall launched are covered by Prevost's reimbursement plan. Bring repair invoices or other documentation when you contact Prevost customer service or the service desk.
