Recall 23V792 covers 650 2023-2024 Mack Anthem, Terrapro, Granite, and Lr trucks for accelerator return-to-idle failure. Repair will be free once available.
Mack is recalling 650 2023-2024 Anthem (An), Terrapro (Te), Granite (Gr), and Lr trucks because a disconnected accelerator pedal position sensor can keep the engine from returning to idle within 2 seconds. That delay can cause loss of vehicle control and raise crash risk; the Mack dealer repair will be free once Mack makes it available.

What's wrong?
The accelerator pedal assembly on these 2023-2024 Mack Anthem (An), Terrapro (Te), Granite (Gr), and Lr trucks includes a position sensor that tells the engine how much power the driver is asking for. When you press or release the pedal, that sensor signal changes, and the engine controller uses it to add power or return the engine to idle.
On affected trucks, the problem appears when Pin B in the pedal circuit is open. Instead of reading the open circuit as an error, the pedal signal defaults to 3.8V, which the engine reads as 100% driver demand. That means the engine does not return to idle within 2 seconds after the driver lets off the accelerator.
The warning sign is a delayed return to engine idle. If the engine continues to hold speed longer than expected after you release the accelerator, that is the symptom tied to this defect.
Who's affected?
Covers four Mack truck lines from the 2023 and 2024 model years, all tied to the accelerator pedal speed-control component.

A matching year and model does not guarantee inclusion. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific truck is included.
What's the safety risk?
A delayed return to engine idle can make the truck harder to control and increase the risk of a crash. If the engine stays above idle after you lift off the throttle, ease off, create space, and arrange service soon. Repair will be free at any franchised Mack dealer once available.
