What's wrong?
The rear brake master cylinder on 2020-2024 Triumph Rocket 3 R, Rocket 3 GT, and Rocket 3 Tfc motorcycles is the pump for the rear brake. When the rider presses the rear brake pedal, the cylinder pushes brake fluid through the line so pressure reaches the rear brake caliper and the brake pads clamp the rotor.
On affected motorcycles, the original 12.7mm master cylinder does not move enough fluid consistently once tiny air bubbles form in the brake fluid over time. Those bubbles reduce fluid movement through the full brake line. As pedal travel increases, the rear brake takes longer to engage and the motorcycle needs an extended distance to stop.
The warning sign is a rear brake pedal that travels farther before the brake engages. Triumph says daily pre-ride safety checks should show the change, and a rider of average experience should feel the increased pedal travel before full rear brake engagement.

What's the safety risk?
Extended stopping distance increases the risk of a crash. Longer rear brake pedal travel is the warning sign; if the pedal travels farther before the brake engages, stop riding and arrange service. Repair is free at any franchised Triumph dealer.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2020-2024 Triumph Rocket 3 R, Rocket 3 GT, or Rocket 3 Tfc is included in this recall.
- Contact a franchised Triumph dealer to schedule the free rear brake master-cylinder replacement that fixes improper brake-fluid movement.
- Bring the recall notice if Triumph mailed one. If not, reference recall number 23V730 when you call.
- Ride cautiously until the repair is complete. Leave extra following distance and allow more room to stop.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Triumph technician replaces the rear brake master cylinder so the rear brake system can move fluid properly again. The replacement parts and labor are free under the recall. If you already paid to have this recall repair performed on your motorcycle, contact Triumph Motorcycles at 1-888-284-6288 for reimbursement eligibility requirements. Keep any repair paperwork available when you call, since Triumph uses that information to review the claim.

Frequently asked questions
What is recall 23V730?
Recall 23V730 covers 3,557 2020-2024 Triumph Rocket 3 R, Rocket 3 GT, and Rocket 3 Tfc motorcycles with a rear brake master cylinder defect. The cylinder can fail to move fluid properly, causing extended stopping distance and increasing crash risk.
What should I do if my 2020-2024 Triumph Rocket 3 R, Rocket 3 GT, or Rocket 3 Tfc is on this recall?
Check your VIN to confirm your specific motorcycle is included in recall 23V730. If it is, contact a franchised Triumph dealer to schedule rear brake master cylinder replacement. Reference recall 23V730 or Triumph recall SRAN 611 when you call. The repair is free.
Is the recall repair free?
Yes. Federal recall law requires manufacturers to repair the defect at no cost, and Triumph dealers will replace the rear brake master cylinder free of charge. Parts and labor are covered at any franchised Triumph dealer handling this recall.
What is the safety risk?
The safety risk is longer stopping distance from the rear brake system. If the rear brake master cylinder fails to move fluid properly, the motorcycle needs more distance to stop, which increases the risk of a crash.
What if I bought the Triumph Rocket 3 used?
The free recall repair still applies. Recall coverage follows the motorcycle, not the first owner. If you never received Triumph's letter mailed November 20, 2023, check your VIN, then contact a franchised Triumph dealer and reference recall 23V730.
