What's wrong?
On 2017-2023 Nova Bus Lfs and Lfs Artic transit buses, the fuse holder is part of the electrical protection system for the radiator fan circuit. The fuse holder keeps the fuse fixed in place while the 24-volt power cable feeds power to that circuit. When current gets too high, the fuse is supposed to protect the wiring instead of letting heat build.
On the affected buses, the 250 amp fuse holder is mounted vertically on certain diesel and CNG models. Conductive road debris can collect between the power cable lug and the grounded mounting fastener that secures the holder. That debris gives electricity a path it should not have, so the cable and fastener can short circuit and overheat.
