What's wrong?
The exterior griddle on the 2023 Forest River Impression fifth wheel connects to the trailer's LP gas system through a gas line and connector. That connector is supposed to let propane reach the griddle when it is in use, then let the owner disconnect the line before the griddle is stowed.
On the recalled fifth wheels, Forest River used a straight connector instead of the replacement 90-degree elbow fitting. The straight connector allows the griddle to be closed and stored with the LP gas line still attached. The elbow fitting changes the angle of the connection so the griddle cannot be stowed with the gas line connected.
There is no warning sign before failure. The problem is the way the griddle and gas fitting fit together, so an owner has to check the LP gas line connection before storing the griddle.

What's the safety risk?
Stowing the griddle while gas is still in use increases the risk of a fire. There is no warning sign listed before the hazard, so shut the gas off before the griddle is stored and schedule the recall repair soon. Repair is free at any franchised Forest River dealer.

What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Forest River technician installs a 90 degree fitting on the exterior griddle so it cannot be stowed while still connected to the LP gas line. The recall repair is free, with parts and labor covered. If you already paid for a repair tied to this defect, Forest River says refunds are limited to repairs within the scope of the recall. Submit the service invoice to the Impression Warranty Manager for review, and still have the recall inspection or repair completed so the correct parts and procedure are confirmed.
