What's wrong?
The SDS2 2-Burner Drop-in Cooktop in the 2021-2022 Boreas Camper Xt is the built-in stove used for cooking inside the trailer. Its gas valves control fuel flow to the burners, and the internal aluminum burner tubes carry that fuel from the valves toward the burner openings. When everything is intact, the tubes keep gas contained until it reaches the burner and burns at the flame.
On affected cooktops with part numbers 3031AST and 3032AST, the internal aluminum burner tubes fracture. Once a tube cracks, gas escapes before it reaches the burner. That creates a gas leak inside or near the cooktop area instead of keeping the fuel inside the stove assembly.
The recall filing does not identify a warning sign before the burner tube fractures. There is no warning sign before failure.
Who's affected?

What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Boreas Camper technician replaces the recalled SDS2 2-Burner Drop-in Cooktop. The recall repair is free, with the replacement cooktop covered by Suburban. The work addresses the internal aluminum burner tubes that connect to the gas valves, since those tubes can fracture and allow a gas leak. Ask the service desk to confirm that the replacement cooktop is installed before the trailer is returned to use.
