What's wrong?

The ROMEX 120V cable on the 2023 Triple E Rv Wonder and Unity motorhomes carries power to the Truma air conditioner. It runs into a junction box, where the air conditioning wiring connects to the rest of the electrical system. The cable jacket and the insulation around each conductor are supposed to keep the energized wire separated from the metal box.

On affected motorhomes, the outer cable jacket was stripped incorrectly during installation. The installer cut horizontally across the cable, which also cut the inner insulation around the conductor. That leaves the wire exposed inside the junction box, so the conductor can contact metal where it should be insulated.

What you notice centers on the Truma A/C. The warning sign is a short circuit during air conditioner operation, with the A/C not functioning as expected.

Who's affected?

Both Wonder and Unity motorhomes use the same ROMEX 120V cable wiring for the Truma A/C.

A matching year and model does not guarantee inclusion. Check your VIN to confirm whether this recall applies to your specific motorhome.

What's the safety risk?

Exposed wiring near the Truma A/C can create a spark and increase the risk of a fire. If your Wonder or Unity shows an A/C short circuit problem, stop using that system and schedule the recall repair soon. Repair will be free at any franchised Triple E Rv dealer once available.

What should I do?

  1. Check your VIN to confirm your 2023 Triple E Rv Wonder or Unity is included in this recall.
  2. Check for the owner letter Triple E Rv mailed on June 16, 2023, if you received one.
  3. Contact a franchised Triple E Rv dealer about the free wiring repair that shortens the cut air-conditioning cable so exposed wire is kept away from the metal junction box.
  4. Call Triple E Rv customer service at 1-877-992-9906 with questions and reference recall number 23V399 (Triple E recall CA#10323-1).
  5. Avoid using the motorhome's air conditioning until the wiring is inspected and repaired.

What happens at the repair

Once the repair is available, a Triple E Rv technician will shorten the air conditioning wiring at the cut point so the exposed wire is no longer against the metal junction box. The dealer repair will be free once available. If you already paid for this repair before the recall notification, Triple E Rv provides reimbursement. The dealer submits a warranty application form, and Triple E Rv pays the RV service center or retail owner directly for covered repair costs.
