Recall 23V394 affects 12,922 2022-2023 Land Rover Range Rover SUVs for rear light failure. Repair is free at any franchised Land Rover dealer.
Land Rover is recalling 12,922 2022-2023 Range Rover vehicles because a damaged rear taillight link can keep exterior lights, including taillights, brake lights, and turn signals, from illuminating. Failed lights make the vehicle harder to see and increase crash risk; Land Rover dealers will complete the repair free of charge.

What's wrong?
On 2022-2023 Land Rover Range Rover SUVs, the rear taillight link lead wiring is the short electrical connection that carries power and signals to the rear lights mounted in the body. Those lights help other drivers see the vehicle, know when it is braking, and see when it is turning.
The problem starts inside the body shell near the rear lamp. A foam block located next to the lamp can damage the link lead wiring. Once that wiring is damaged, the body-mounted rear light, taillights, brake lights, and turn signals can stop illuminating either partly or permanently.
There is no warning sign before failure. An owner first notices the problem when an exterior rear light does not work, or when another driver points out that a brake light, taillight, or turn signal is out.
Who's affected?
The part named by Land Rover is the rear end aperture finisher, which is tied to the tail-light issue across both model years.

A matching year and model does not guarantee inclusion. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific SUV is included.
What's the safety risk?
When exterior lights fail to illuminate, other drivers have less visibility of the vehicle, which increases the risk of a crash. Check the lights before trips, especially at night or in bad weather, and schedule the dealer inspection soon if your VIN is included. Repair is free at any franchised Land Rover dealer.

- Check the rear lights, brake lights, and turn signals before driving until the repair is complete.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Land Rover technician inspects the rear lights and repairs or replaces the affected rear light parts as needed. The recall covers the inspection, parts, and labor at no cost. Out of pocket repairs already paid are handled through Jaguar Land Rover's new vehicle warranty program, not through a separate reimbursement program, because the affected vehicles are still under warranty. Ask the service desk how warranty coverage applies if you have prior repair paperwork.
