The winch on these 2021-2023 Fox Factory upfitted Ford Pickup, Gm Pickup, Ram Pickup, and Jeep vehicles is a Warn VR EVO unit. A winch uses an electric motor, cable, and remote control to pull the vehicle or another load when recovery is needed. The handheld or wireless remote is supposed to command the motor only when the operator presses it.
The problem is inside the remote control, not the truck frame or the winch cable. Water can enter the remote housing because the wireless WARN remote is not waterproof.
