Recall 23V205 covered 35 2022 Tesla Semi trucks for a parking-brake valve fault. Tesla service replaced the PVM for free.
Tesla is recalling 35 2022 Semi trucks because the electronic parking brake valve module can fail to move into park when the parking brake is activated. That failure can let the truck roll after the driver releases the brakes, which raises crash risk, and Tesla service will replace the valve module free of charge.

What's wrong?
The parking brake valve module on the 2022 Tesla Semi is an air-control valve for the truck's parking brake system. When the driver sets the parking brake, the module is supposed to shift into the park position and route air pressure so the parking brakes apply. That valve movement is what holds the truck in place after the parking brake is requested.
On affected Semi trucks, the supplier's design allowed too much internal air leakage inside the valve module. With that leakage, pressure does not build the way the module needs it to build. The valve then fails to transition into park when the driver activates the parking brake, so the parking brake command is not completed.
The warning sign is on the side console. If the parking brake switch LEDs remain off after you request the parking brakes, the brakes are not engaged.

What's the safety risk?
A parking brake that does not engage after the driver releases the brakes can let the vehicle roll away, increasing crash risk. If the side console parking brake switch LEDs stay off, treat the parking brake as not engaged and secure the vehicle before arranging service. Repair is free at any franchised Tesla dealer.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2022 Tesla Semi is included in this recall.
- Contact Tesla service to confirm whether the free parking-brake PVM replacement is already complete.
- Schedule the PVM replacement if the repair is still open; it fixes the valve module that can fail to hold park after the parking brake is activated.
- Bring the recall notice if Tesla mailed one. If not, reference recall number 23V205 when you call.
- Call Tesla customer service at 1-877-798-3752 with questions about Tesla recall SB-23-33-001.
What happens at the repair
At Tesla service, a Tesla technician replaces the electronic parking brake valve module, called the PVM in the recall. The replacement is free of charge. Tesla says all affected vehicles were repaired by April 10, 2023, so service should confirm completion if your Semi is listed. Tesla is not offering a separate reimbursement program for repairs paid before the recall notice because the filing says there were no out of warranty repairs tied to these conditions. Any earlier covered work would run through the existing warranty.

Frequently asked questions
What is recall 23V205?
Recall 23V205 covers 35 2022 Tesla Semi trucks with an electronic parking brake valve module defect. The module can fail to move into park when the parking brake is activated, which can let the truck roll away and increase crash risk.
What should I do if my 2022 Tesla Semi is on this recall?
Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific truck is included in recall 23V205. If it is, ask Tesla service to verify the parking brake valve module replacement under Tesla recall SB-23-33-001. Tesla reported that all affected trucks were repaired by April 10, 2023.
Is the recall repair free?
Yes. Federal recall law requires the manufacturer to repair the defect at no cost. Tesla service replaces the parking brake valve module free of charge for any included 2022 Semi, and Tesla listed customer service at 1-877-798-3752 for recall questions.
What is the safety risk?
The risk is vehicle rollaway. If the parking brake does not engage after the driver releases the brakes, the truck can move when it is expected to stay parked. That increases crash risk, so confirm the VIN and repair status before relying on the parking brake.
