What's wrong?
The entry door latch on 2022-2023 Renegade Explorer, Xl, and Classic motorhomes is the lock and handle assembly that lets the coach door open, close, and stay secured. On these motorhomes, the recalled Global LK702 latch is the part you operate from inside or outside the coach when entering or leaving. The door depends on that latch to release cleanly when the handle is turned.
The problem is inside the latch assembly itself. Lippert identified a defective Global Link motorized rotary latch used in motorized RV entry doors, and Renegade traced affected motorhomes built with that equipment. When the latch malfunctions, it fails to release the door. That can block entry into the motorhome or trap someone inside the coach until another exit is used.
The warning sign is direct: the latch will not operate. From inside the coach, the door will not open when the handle is used.

A matching year and model does not guarantee inclusion. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific motorhome is included.
What's the safety risk?
A door latch that will not operate can keep occupants from exiting the coach during an emergency. That raises the risk of injury. If the door will not open from inside, use another exit and have the latch inspected before using the coach again. Repair is free at any franchised Renegade dealer.
What should I do?

- Contact a franchised Renegade dealer to schedule the free entry-door-latch inspection and replacement that fixes the latch that can block entry or exit.
- Bring the recall notice Renegade mailed, or reference recall number 23V161 when you call.
- Keep another exit path available until the repair is complete, especially when passengers are inside the motorhome.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Renegade technician inspects the entry door latch and replaces the latch if the inspection shows it is affected. The recall repair is free, including parts and labor. The reimbursement plan on file gives owners a path to claim eligible out-of-pocket repairs already paid before the recall work. Contact Kibbi customer service or ask the service desk what documentation they need for a reimbursement claim.
