What's wrong?
The SDS2 2-burner drop-in cooktop in these 2021-2022 Roadtrek recreational vehicles uses propane to feed the burners. Inside the cooktop, aluminum burner tubes connect the gas valves to the burner area. When the cooktop is working correctly, those tubes carry gas only where it belongs, so the burner can light and operate without leaking propane into the living space.
On affected Roadtrek Zion, Chase, Zion Slumber, Play, Play Slumber, Zion SRT, and Play SRT vehicles, a manufacturing defect can let the internal aluminum burner tubes fracture. The defect is not visible during normal inspection before the crack forms. Shock or excessive vibration can expose the problem, and once a tube cracks, propane can leak from the cooktop assembly.
Owners can notice the smell of propane gas. The propane detector alarm can also sound. Treat either sign as a warning that gas is present and the cooktop needs attention before use.

What's the safety risk?
A propane gas leak near an ignition source can increase the risk of fire. Treat a propane smell or propane detector alarm as a reason to stop using the cooktop, leave the area, and schedule the recall repair soon. Repair is free at any franchised Roadtrek dealer.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2021-2022 Roadtrek Zion Slumber, Play Slumber, Zion, Zion SRT, Play SRT, Chase, or Play is included in this recall.
- Contact a franchised Roadtrek dealer to schedule the free cooktop inspection and repair that addresses fractured burner tubes and a gas leak risk.
- Stop using the cooktop until the dealer inspects the burner tubes and completes the repair or cooktop replacement.
- Bring the recall notice if Roadtrek mailed one. If not, reference recall number 23V112 when you call.
- Call Roadtrek customer service at 1-888-762-3873 with questions about the inspection or cooktop replacement.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Roadtrek technician inspects the cooktop burner tubes that connect to the gas valves. For sold units, the technician repairs the burner tube area or replaces the cooktop if needed. Unsold units receive a regulator support bracket before sale. Parts and labor are covered under the recall. Roadtrek lists a general reimbursement plan for this recall, so keep documentation for any prior cooktop or burner tube repair and ask Roadtrek customer service how to submit it.
