Recall 23V110 affects 886 2022-2023 Lucid Air vehicles because contactor switches can open and cut drive power. Repair is free through Lucid Service Centers.
Lucid is recalling 886 2022-2023 Air vehicles because electrically activated contact switches can open unexpectedly and cut power to the drive motors. The power loss shuts down the electric motors, causes loss of drive power, and increases crash risk; Lucid dealers will complete the recall repair free of charge.

What's wrong?
The contactor in a 2022-2023 Lucid Air is an electrically activated switch inside the propulsion electrical system. At startup, it closes so high-voltage energy can move to and from the drive units that power the wheels. At shutdown, it opens to isolate that energy.
On affected Air vehicles, spring force inside the contactor can overcome the magnetic force that is supposed to keep the switch closed. When that happens while driving, the contactor opens unexpectedly and cuts power to the electric motors. Lucid identified at-risk contactors by a double-dip current signature during closing, a pattern that points to this spring force problem.
There is no warning sign before failure. If an unexpected opening occurs, the driver receives system-fault and reduced-driving-power messages after power is cut. The vehicle displays, power steering, and power brakes continue to work, and the vehicle can coast.

A matching year and model does not guarantee inclusion. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific sedan is included.
What's the safety risk?
A high voltage contactor can open without advance warning, shutting down the electric motors. That loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash. If the fault occurs, the vehicle reports a system fault and reduced driving power, while displays, power steering, and power brakes keep working. Schedule the recall repair soon. Repair is free at any franchised Lucid dealer.
