What's wrong?
On 2019-2021 Freightliner M2, 114SD, 108SD, Columbia, 122SD, Coronado, and Cascadia trucks in campaign 23V105, the drag link taper joint is the connection point between the drag link and the steering arm on the front axle. The drag link carries steering movement from the steering gear to the axle. That joint has to stay tight so the front wheels respond correctly when the driver turns the steering wheel.
The defect is an under-tightened joint at that connection point. If the joint works loose, the drag link separates from the steering arm. Once that connection separates, the steering linkage no longer transfers steering input correctly, which creates a loss of steering control risk.
