Bentley is recalling 650 2020 Continental GT and Continental GTC vehicles because liquid can enter the external coolant pump for the climate control system and trigger an electrical short circuit. That short circuit increases the risk of a vehicle fire, and Bentley dealers will complete the recall repair free of charge.

What's wrong?
The auxiliary coolant pump on affected 2020 Bentley Continental GT and Continental GTC vehicles moves engine coolant through the climate control system. That flow helps the cabin heating system use warm engine coolant, including the Residual Heat function that heats the cabin after the ignition is switched off. The pump has an electrical side that must stay dry while the coolant side moves fluid.
On recalled vehicles, the pump lacks a pressure compensation seal. A vacuum forms inside the electrical side of the pump, pulling liquid through the nylon housing. Once liquid reaches the electrical connectors, corrosion builds on the contacts. Over time, that corrosion damages the pump electrically and can lead to an electrical short circuit.
Owners can notice weak climate control performance or reduced heat from the Residual Heat function. On W12 models, the engine management light can also come on before the pump fails.
Who's affected?
Both models share the same auxiliary coolant pump for climate-control coolant flow.

What's the safety risk?
An electrical short circuit increases the risk of a vehicle fire. Climate control problems or reduced Residual Heat performance can appear before the short, and W12 vehicles can show an Engine Management Light. Schedule the repair soon if your VIN is included. Repair is free at any franchised Bentley dealer.
