What's wrong?
The front air suspension strut on the 2022 Audi E-Tron GT supports the front axle and cushions bumps through a pressurized air spring. It helps hold the vehicle at the correct ride height while keeping the tire stable against the road. A retaining ring at the top of the strut keeps the air spring assembly seated.
On affected vehicles, the notch at the top of the strut was not built to the required specification by a sub-supplier. That incorrect notch lets the retaining ring loosen. Once the ring is loose, air can escape from the strut spring, reducing the strut's ability to support that front corner of the vehicle.
If this condition is present, the driver can see a warning message in the instrument panel. A red warning light can also appear, with the message indicating an air suspension malfunction.

What's the safety risk?
A failed air suspension strut affects vehicle handling and control and increases the risk of a crash. If an air suspension warning message or red warning light appears, pull over when safe and contact an Audi dealer before continuing. Repair is free at any franchised Audi dealer.
What should I do?

- Contact a franchised Audi dealer to schedule the free suspension-strut inspection and replacement if needed for the loose retaining ring and air loss from the strut spring.
- Bring the recall notice if Audi mailed one. If not, reference recall number 22V927 and Audi recall 42M4 when you call.
- Drive cautiously until the repair is complete. Leave extra following distance and stop driving if the vehicle feels hard to control.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, an Audi technician inspects the suspension strut and replaces the strut if the retaining ring or air spring condition requires it. Parts and labor are covered under the recall, and the repair is available through an Audi dealer. Audi is not offering reimbursement for this campaign, so prior repair costs paid by the owner are not covered by a separate recall reimbursement plan.
