What's wrong?
The left-hand and right-hand high-pressure fuel pipes on the 2023 McLaren Artura carry gasoline from the fuel pump to the injection system. That fuel is under high pressure, so the pipe connection depends on its retaining nut staying tight at the pump outlet. When the connection stays clamped, fuel remains sealed inside the line as the engine runs.
On affected Arturas, the fuel pipes use cold formed nuts with rolled threads. McLaren found that this nut design has less friction than the fully machined nut used outside the recall, which leaves less holding force in the joint after tightening. As the vehicle is driven, the nut can loosen at the pump outlet connection. If that happens, gasoline can leak from the high-pressure fuel pipe.
There is no warning sign before failure. A fuel leak means the pipe connection has already lost its seal, so the vehicle needs dealer attention before it is driven again.

What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a McLaren technician replaces the high pressure fuel pipes covered by the recall. The replacement parts and labor are free under the recall. Out-of-pocket repairs already paid are handled through the existing warranty, not through a separate reimbursement program, since all covered vehicles are under warranty. Ask the service desk how warranty coverage applies if you have prior repair paperwork related to the fuel pipe repair.
