Recall 22V851 covers 353 2016-2023 Coach And Equipment Phoenix buses for corroding fuel lines. Free repair at any franchised Coach And Equipment dealer.
Coach And Equipment is recalling 353 2016-2023 Phoenix transit buses because zinc plating on Roush fuel return lines can break away after road debris contact, letting dissimilar metals touch and corrode. A corroded fuel line can leak fuel and increase fire risk; the dealer repair will be free once Coach And Equipment makes it available.

What's wrong?
The 1/4-inch fuel return line on 2016-2023 Coach And Equipment Phoenix transit buses is part of the Roush LPG conversion system. It carries fuel through the return side of the system, using a zinc-plated carbon steel fitting held by a stainless-steel crimp collar. That fitting has to stay sealed so LPG stays inside the fuel system.
On affected buses used in Salt Belt conditions, road debris can chip or break away the zinc plating on the fitting. Once the coating is damaged, road salt and moisture let the carbon steel fitting react against the stainless-steel collar. That metal-to-metal reaction corrodes the fitting, and corrosion can eventually compromise the fuel return line connection.
An owner or service technician can see the warning sign before a leak starts. Look for a significant amount of red rust on the fuel return line connector fitting.
