What's wrong?
The A-Frame coupler on the 2022 Quality Trailers Ohio Tandem B, Economy Series Dh, Aw, and A trailers is the hitch connection at the front of the trailer. It locks onto the tow vehicle's ball and carries the pulling force between the tow vehicle and trailer under normal towing.
On these trailers, the underside of the coupler was not welded correctly. The filing describes 3 underside welds that were tack welded instead of fully welded. A tack weld holds parts in place during assembly, but it is not the same as a solid finished weld. Under towing load, that weak connection can let the coupler break loose from the trailer frame.
If the coupler separates, the trailer can detach from the tow vehicle. There is no warning sign before failure. An owner should not rely on noise, movement, or visible damage as advance notice that the welds are failing.

At the dealer, a Quality Trailers Ohio technician follows the inspection instructions for the trailer coupler welds and replaces the coupler if the inspection shows it is needed. The recall work is free, including covered parts and labor. The repair focuses on the connection point between the trailer and tow vehicle, so the service desk should confirm the coupler inspection and any replacement are complete before the trailer leaves.
