What's wrong?
The electric retractable awning on 2022 Sunset Park & Rv Sunlite and Rush travel trailers is the fabric-covered shade assembly mounted to the side of the trailer. When it works normally, the motor extends and retracts the awning while the fabric stays attached along its welded seam. That seam holds the fabric in the correct position as the arms move.
On the affected trailers, that welded seam was not joined deeply enough during production. Under use, the fabric seam can separate. Once the fabric separates, the awning can drop below its normal operating range instead of staying supported by the retractable assembly.
There is no warning sign before failure. If the awning drops out of its normal range, stop using it and have a Sunset Park & Rv dealer inspect it under recall 22V805.

What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Sunset Park & Rv technician inspects the awning and either repairs it or replaces the awning if the fabric weld has separated or the awning does not operate correctly. The recall repair, including parts and labor, is free. If you already paid for inspection, repair, or replacement of an affected awning, Lippert will reimburse those costs. Have repair paperwork ready and contact Sunset Park or the service desk to start the claim.
