Blue Bird is recalling 25 2022-2023 Vision Transit Bus vehicles equipped with a 7.3L gasoline engine because the transmission shift cable lacks enough clearance from the gasoline fuel supply line. Contact between those parts can cause a fuel leak, and a Blue Bird dealer will complete the free repair to reduce fire risk.

What's wrong?
The gas fuel line on 2022-2023 Blue Bird Vision Transit Bus models carries pressurized gasoline through the engine area. The transmission shift cable runs nearby and connects the shifter to the transmission, so the bus can be placed in the selected gear. These parts need enough clearance from each other because the shift cable moves while the bus is operated.
On affected buses, the shift cable was routed too close to the gasoline fuel supply line at the left rear corner of the engine. When the clearance is too tight, the cable rubs against the fuel line. That rubbing can wear the line and lead to a gasoline leak near hot engine surfaces, increasing the risk of fire.
There is no warning sign before failure that an owner or driver can see or feel from the driver's seat. The condition has to be found by inspecting the fuel line routing near the transmission shift cable in the engine area.
Who's affected?
Covers both 2022 and 2023 Vision Transit Bus scopes for the same gas fuel line, listed under engine and fuel system components.

The year and model narrow the scope, but the VIN decides. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific bus is included.
What's the safety risk?
A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire. There is no warning sign before this condition unless the fuel line routing is inspected near the transmission shift cable, so schedule the inspection and rerouting soon. Repair is free at any franchised Blue Bird dealer.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2022-2023 Blue Bird Vision Transit Bus is included in this recall.
- Contact a franchised Blue Bird dealer to schedule the free inspection and transmission-cable rerouting that keeps the cable away from the gasoline fuel supply line.
- Bring the recall notice if Blue Bird mailed one. If not, reference recall number 22V740 when you call.
- Keep the bus out of service if you see or smell fuel, and ask the dealer how to move it safely before the repair.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Blue Bird technician inspects the transmission shift cable and reroutes it so it has proper clearance from the gasoline fuel supply line near the left rear corner of the engine. The dealer repair is free under the recall. Blue Bird also provides reimbursement for labor tied to this recall. If this modification was completed before the recall notice reached you, send a copy of the work order or invoice to campaignparts@blue-bird.com for Blue Bird warranty consideration.

What should I do if my 2022-2023 Blue Bird Vision Transit Bus is on this recall?
Check your VIN to confirm your specific bus is included in recall 22V740. If it is, contact a franchised Blue Bird dealer to schedule the transmission cable inspection and rerouting. Reference Blue Bird recall R22CB (NSB) when you call.
