What's wrong?
The electric retractable awning on affected 2022-2023 Thor Motor Coach Four Winds, Quantum, Chateau, and Geneva motorhomes is the fabric-covered shade assembly that rolls out from the side of the coach. Its fabric is attached to a PVC track, a plastic guide that holds the awning in line as the motor extends and retracts it.
On these motorhomes, the welded joint between the awning fabric and the PVC track was not fused deeply enough in some areas. That weak joint lets the fabric start to pull away from the track. As the separation grows, the awning no longer stays in its normal path and can drop farther than it is designed to during operation.
The visible warning sign is partial weld separation at the ends of the awning roll along the side of the coach. If you see fabric pulling away from the track, stop using the awning until the recall repair is complete.
