What's wrong?
The LP tank service valve on these 2021-2023 Newmar motorhomes controls propane flow from the tank into the coach's LPG system. It is the shutoff and connection point for propane leaving the tank. When the valve and tank threads fit correctly, the connection seals so propane stays contained under pressure.
On affected motorhomes, the RegO Service Valve on a Manchester LP tank has the wrong female POL thread depth. That means the threaded connection is not cut deep enough to seat and seal as designed. A poor seal lets propane leak at the tank service valve. Propane near the motorhome creates a fire or explosion risk if it reaches an ignition source.
There is no warning sign before failure. Because the issue is at the tank valve connection, owners should not rely on seeing, hearing, or smelling a problem before propane escapes.
