Recall 22V552 covers 4,449 2022-2023 Kzrv trailers for awnings that can drop beyond normal operation. Free repair once available.
Kzrv is recalling 4,449 2022-2023 Connect, Durango Gold, Sonic, and other travel trailers because the electric retractable awning fabric has a welded seam that can separate and let the awning drop beyond normal operation. That condition can increase the risk of injury, and the dealer repair will be free once Kzrv makes it available.

What's wrong?
The electric retractable awning on affected 2022-2023 Kzrv travel trailers is the fabric shade that rolls out from the side of the coach. Its fabric is attached to a PVC track, a plastic strip that holds the awning material in position as the motor rolls the awning in and out. That connection has to stay joined so the awning moves in its normal range.
On these trailers, the weld between the awning fabric and the adjoining PVC track was not bonded deeply enough in some areas. The weak bond lets the fabric separate from the track. Once that joint opens, the awning can drop farther than it should during operation instead of staying controlled by the roller and track.
Owners can look for a visible separation at the ends of the awning roll along the side of the trailer. If the fabric is pulling away from the track, that is the warning sign before the awning drops beyond normal operation.

What's the safety risk?
An awning that drops or extends beyond normal travel can injure someone near the coach. If you see partial weld separation at either end of the awning roll, stop using the awning and schedule dealer inspection soon. Repair will be free at any franchised Kzrv dealer once available.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2022-2023 Kzrv trailer is included in this recall.
- Contact Kzrv customer service at 1-800-768-4016 before scheduling, and ask whether the free awning inspection and replacement is open for your VIN.
- Schedule service with a franchised Kzrv dealer once Kzrv confirms the repair is open; the dealer inspects the electric retractable awning and replaces it if the fabric weld can let the awning drop beyond normal operation.
- Bring the recall notice if Kzrv mailed one. If not, reference recall number 22V552 and Kzrv recall KZ-2022-04 when you call.
- Keep people clear of the electric retractable awning and avoid operating it until a dealer inspects it.
What happens at the repair
Once Kzrv opens the final dealer repair, a Kzrv technician will inspect the electric retractable awning and replace the awning if the fabric weld has separated or the awning drops beyond normal operation. Parts and labor will be covered under the recall. Kzrv used its general reimbursement plan for this campaign, so documented out-of-pocket awning repairs already paid before the recall notice are handled through that plan. Keep repair invoices and payment records for the reimbursement request.
