What's wrong?
The tire pressure monitoring system on the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning BEV watches tire pressure and turns on a warning light when pressure drops too far. On trucks equipped with 20 or 22 inch all season tires, that warning depends on a pressure value stored in the Body Control Module, the vehicle computer that manages this alert.
Ford found that the Body Control Module software used the wrong cold inflation setting. It was set to 35 psi instead of the correct 42 psi shown on the tire placard label. Because the computer was using 35 psi as the target, the TPMS light waited until the tire reached 28 psi instead of illuminating at about 32 psi.
That means the placard label on the truck is correct, but the warning light is delayed. There is no warning sign before failure; the problem is that the expected low-pressure warning does not appear at the proper point.
