What's wrong?

The affected part is the Dometic 2-burner LPG cooktop installed in 2021-2022 Triple E Unity and Wonder recreational vehicles. LPG means propane fuel, and the cooktop uses burner control valves to meter that gas when you turn a knob. Those valves are supposed to seal metal-to-metal so gas flows only when a burner is being used.

On the recalled cooktops, the sealing surfaces inside or outside the burner control valve were abraded. An abrasion is a scrape on the metal surface that has to seal tightly. If that sealing surface no longer closes cleanly, propane can leak around the valve instead of staying contained in the fuel path. Remedy cooktops use serial numbers outside the recalled group and do not have the defective burner control valve.

While the cooktop is being used, owners can smell gas before ignition or before a flame is present. Treat that gas smell as the warning sign, stop using the cooktop, shut off propane if safe to do so, and arrange the recall repair.
