What's wrong?

The 2-burner cooktop in 2021-2022 Coach House Platinum Ii, Platinum, and Arriva motorhomes uses burner control valves behind the cooking knobs. Each valve meters LP gas to the selected burner, then seals the gas path when the knob is turned off. The cooktop depends on those metal sealing surfaces closing tightly.

On the affected Dometic cooktops, the burner control valve has abrasions on its sealing surfaces, inside or outside the valve. Those roughened surfaces keep the valve from sealing cleanly. LP gas then leaks from the valve area instead of staying contained in the cooktop gas line.

The warning sign is a smell of LP gas inside the motorhome, similar to rotten eggs. Treat that odor as a sign that the cooktop valve is leaking and needs recall service.

Who's affected?

Covers Arriva, Platinum, and Platinum Ii motorhomes from the 2021 and 2022 model years, all using the same CE99-ZF cooktop.

What happens at the repair

At the dealer, a Coach House technician replaces the affected cooktop at no cost. The process starts with confirming that the installed cooktop is included and recording the cooktop serial number for Dometic. Dometic sends the replacement unit with installation and functional verification instructions for a qualified RV technician. The technician installs the replacement cooktop, checks that it works correctly, and returns the recall response card and recalled unit to document the completed repair. Parts and labor are covered under the recall.
