What's wrong?
The vehicle body harness in the 2022 Lucid Air carries data between the body control module, instrument cluster controller, driver monitor system, and display screens. Those signals keep the center and left displays updating, including the controls and information covered by the instrument panel requirements. The harness needs enough clearance from the steering intermediate shaft, which turns as the steering wheel moves.
On affected vehicles, some harnesses had excess length and were not secured tightly enough during installation. That leaves too little space between the harness and the steering intermediate shaft. As the shaft moves, it can rub the harness, chafe the wiring, and interrupt the data connection that keeps the displays updated. A damaged harness is inspected for chafing, and Lucid replaces it when visible wear is present.
