What's wrong?
The axle hub on a 2020-2023 Trailstar Boat Trailer is the center wheel assembly that sits on the axle and lets the trailer wheel turn around its bearings. It has to be tightened to the right torque so the wheel stays aligned, the bearings carry the load correctly, and the hub turns freely while the trailer is moving.
On the affected trailers, the hubs were not tightened properly by the vendor. Tracker found units with large differences in torque, instead of the specified 50 lbs. When the hub is not tightened to specification, the bearing load is wrong and the hub can bind. If it binds far enough, the hub can seize while the trailer is in motion.
There is no warning sign before failure. If the trailer starts pulling, shaking, making wheel-end noise, or showing heat near a hub, stop using it and have the trailer inspected before moving it again.

Seized trailer hubs can cause loss of vehicle control and increase the risk of a crash. Until the recall repair is complete, drive at reduced speeds and do not tow a boat. Schedule the inspection soon so the hubs can be tightened if needed. Repair is free at any franchised Trailstar dealer.
