Tiffin is recalling 679 2021-2022 Allegro and Allegro Bay motorhomes because defective hydraulic-cylinder seals can let a slide-room extend 6 to 8 inches while parked or while moving. A slide-room that extends during transit can increase the risk of a crash, and Tiffin dealers will complete the repair free of charge.

What's wrong?
The hydraulic slide cylinders on the 2021-2022 Tiffin Allegro and Allegro Bay are the hydraulic parts that move and hold the sidewall slide room. When the slide is retracted, fluid pressure inside the cylinder is supposed to keep the room pulled in against the motorhome body. That pressure matters because the slide room is a large body section, not a trim part.
On affected motorhomes, the inner seal inside the 1 1/4 inch cylinder does not hold enough pressure. As pressure leaks past the seal, the slide room can creep outward instead of staying fully retracted. Tiffin traced the problem to seal compression in the hydraulic cylinders, and replacement cylinders use an improved seal package.
Owners can see the warning sign from outside the coach. If the sidewall slide extends past the normal 1 inch allowance after it has been retracted, the slide system is not holding position as designed.
