Recall 22V201 covers 18 2022 Lance travel trailers with data cables routed against the burner box. Repair is free at a franchised Lance dealer.
Lance is recalling 18 2022 Lance 1685, 1985, 1995, 2185, and 2445 travel trailers because a data cable routed through the cold water inlet can rest on the burner box. A cable against the burner box can short and increase the risk of a fire; the Lance dealer repair will be free once available.

What's wrong?
The water heater data cable on the 2022 Lance 1685, 1985, 1995, 2185, and 2445 travel trailers carries control signals between the water heater and its control panel. On units with the Truma water heater option, that cable needs to be routed away from hot parts so the panel can command the heater without the cable insulation being damaged.
In this recall, the cable was installed in the wrong path. It can pass through the cold water inlet area and rest against the burner box, the heated enclosure around the water heater burner. Heat from that burner box can melt the data cable. Once the cable is damaged, the control panel loses the connection it needs to operate the water heater.
The warning sign is a water heater control panel that stops working, along with a water heater that does not operate. If that happens, the cable has already been exposed to heat or damaged.
Who's affected?
Covers five Lance trailer models from the 2022 model year, all using the same electric water heater gas connector elbow kit.

What's the safety risk?
A data cable resting on the burner box can short and increase the risk of a fire. If the water heater control panel fails or the water heater stops working, stop using the water heater and arrange service. Repair will be free at any franchised Lance dealer once available.
What should I do?

- Avoid using the affected water-heater area until Lance or the dealer confirms the data cable has been rerouted.
What happens at the repair
Lance has described the repair, but the final dealer remedy is not listed as open yet. Once Lance opens it, a Lance technician will reroute the data cable so it no longer passes through the cold water inlet or rests on the burner box. The final dealer repair will be free once available, with parts and labor covered under the recall. Until then, contact a Lance dealer or Lance Camper customer service to confirm the repair status for your trailer.
