Recall 22V090 covers 203 2022 Lucid Air vehicles for front strut damper snap-ring failure. Lucid service centers inspect and replace parts free.
Lucid is recalling 203 2022 Air vehicles because a snap ring below the front strut damper can fail, suddenly dropping the ride height or damaging a front brake line. That failure can cause loss of vehicle control or loss of brake function, which increases crash risk, and Lucid dealers will complete the repair free of charge.

What's wrong?
The front strut damper on the 2022 Lucid Air is part of the front suspension. It helps control wheel movement and ride height as the vehicle goes over bumps, turns, and stops. A spring seat holds the suspension spring in position, and a snap ring locks that seat in place.
On affected Air vehicles, the supplier installed some spring seat snap rings upside down. In that position, the snap ring does not retain the spring seat as designed. If it fails, the front corner of the vehicle can drop suddenly. The failure can also damage the front brake line, which affects braking performance if fluid leaks.
Before the snap ring fails, there is no warning sign. After a failure, the driver can see "Suspension Control Fault. Contact Service Center." If brake fluid drops far enough after a brake hose leak, the driver can see "Brake Fluid Level Low. Refill Required, Contact Service Center," with an audible warning.

What's the safety risk?
A sudden drop in ride height can cause loss of vehicle control, and brake line damage can lead to loss of brake function. Either failure increases crash risk. The driver does not get a warning before the front damper snap ring fails, so treat suspension faults, low brake fluid alerts, or abnormal ride height as a reason to stop and call Lucid. Repair is free at any franchised Lucid dealer.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2022 Lucid Air is included in this recall.
- Contact a Lucid Studio or Lucid satellite service center to schedule the free front strut damper inspection and needed replacement that addresses snap-ring failure, sudden ride-height drop, and brake-line damage.
- Bring the recall notice if you have it, and reference recall number 22V090 when you call.
- Avoid driving if the front end sits low, ride height changes suddenly, or braking feels weak. Ask Lucid about towing or service options before moving the vehicle.
