The Winntec model 6020 two-stage propane regulator on affected 2017-2021 Trails West Sierra, Freeride, Classic, and Santa Fe trailers controls propane pressure from the onboard cylinders. Its job is to reduce tank pressure to a steady level that appliances, including the refrigerator, can use safely.
In these trailers, the regulator's second-stage valve seat can move out of position or degrade. When that happens, the regulator no longer controls propane flow correctly.
