What's wrong?
The power windows on 2017-2021 Dennis Eagle Elite and Proview trucks rely on Actia software in the instrument cluster. That cluster is the dashboard control module, and its software tells the window controls how to move the driver and passenger glass up and down. When the software matches the cab door window system, the glass travels fully open and fully closed when commanded.
On affected trucks, the software protection in the instrument cluster does not match the requirements of the windows fitted in the cab doors. The wrong software version can stop the driver or passenger window before it reaches the top or bottom of its travel. That leaves the window partly open, partly closed, or refusing to complete the command.
There is no warning sign before failure. The issue shows up when the window does not travel all the way up or down after you use the switch.
Who's affected?
Spans Elite and Proview trucks across the 2017-2021 model years, with Actia software tied to the instrument panel and power window controls.
