What's wrong?
The rear door winch cable on the 2014-2021 Lgs Industries Cargo Sport, Shadow, Journey, Premier Race, and Aftershock trailers is the wire cable used by the electric winch at the rear door. Its normal job is to control the heavy rear door as it moves and to keep that door secured when the winch is holding it.
On the affected trailers, the cable is the only device securing the rear door. If the cable snaps, there is no backup restraint to hold the door in place. The rear door can drop suddenly and strike someone standing near the trailer.
Owners can look for wear or damage on the winch cable before using the rear door. Fraying, broken strands, kinks, rust, or visible cable damage are warning signs that the cable needs attention before the door is raised or lowered.
Who's affected?
Covers 5 Lgs Industries trailer lines from 2014 through 2021, all tied to the same rear-door winch cable component.
