What's wrong?

The fuel injection electronic control unit on the 2021 Honda NC750XD is the computer that tells the fuel injection system how much gasoline to deliver. On these motorcycles, it works with the 6-speed dual clutch automatic transmission, which shifts the motorcycle without a hand-operated clutch. At low speed, the system has to add fuel cleanly as the rider stops or starts moving.

The problem is software programming inside the fuel injection control unit. During a low, quick throttle input, the programming does not provide enough fuel to keep the engine running. That loss of fuel can make the motorcycle stall while starting from a stop or right before it stops. Honda corrected production by reprogramming the fuel injection unit and the dual clutch transmission control unit.

There is no warning sign before failure. The stall is intermittent, and Honda's investigation found the engine can be restarted immediately after the stall.
