What's wrong?
The power steering pump on the 2021 Entegra Cornerstone is part of the hydraulic steering assist system. It moves pressurized power steering fluid through the steering system so the large motorhome is easier to turn, especially at low speed. The pump has to hold pressure inside the housing while the shaft seal keeps fluid where it belongs.
On affected Cornerstone motorhomes, the pump rotor was made with a machining variation in the flat face of the rotor from the slot grinding process. That variation can let pressure build inside the pump. If pressure breaks the shaft seal, power steering fluid can leak into the engine oil and the driver loses power steering assist.
There is no warning sign before failure. If the assist drops out, the steering wheel can suddenly require much more effort, especially while parking or turning at low speed.
