What's wrong?
The refrigerator in the 2015-2018 Triple E Unity, Libero, Wonder, Serenity, and Free Spirit needs a heat shield behind it. That shield is a metal heat deflector, a barrier that keeps hot exhaust from the refrigerator from blowing directly onto the wood framing around the fridge cabinet. When it is in place, the exhaust heat is redirected away from the wood surfaces.
On affected recreational vehicles, the wood frames at the rear of the refrigerator cabinet were built without those heat deflectors. That leaves the refrigerator exhaust aimed at nearby wood framing and surfaces. Over normal refrigerator use, the wood can overheat and show heat damage because there is no metal barrier between the exhaust path and the cabinet structure.
The warning sign is visible discoloration on the wood frame or nearby wood surfaces behind the upper refrigerator vent. If you see darkened or discolored wood in that area, describe it to the Triple E dealer as heat damage near the refrigerator vent.

This scope covers several Triple E motorhome lines, all tied to the same refrigerator heat-deflector component.

What's the safety risk?
An overheated wood frame can ignite and start a fire. Discoloration on the wood frame is the warning sign to take seriously. If you see it, stop using the affected equipment and schedule the recall repair soon. Repair is free at any franchised Triple E dealer.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2015-2018 Triple E Unity, Libero, Wonder, Serenity, or Free Spirit is included in this recall.
- Contact a franchised Triple E dealer to schedule the free metal heat deflector and screw installation that shields the wood frame from refrigerator exhaust heat.
- Bring the owner letter if you have it. If not, reference recall number 21V820 and Triple E recall CA#8721-1 when you call.
- Avoid using the refrigerator until the dealer completes the repair, because overheated wood can ignite and cause a fire.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Triple E technician installs metal heat deflectors and screws so the refrigerator exhaust no longer vents directly onto nearby wood framing and surfaces. Parts and labor are covered under the recall. If you or an RV service center already paid for this repair before the owner notification, Triple E's reimbursement plan covers those prior repair costs. Ask the service desk or Triple E customer service how to submit the claim for the work already completed.

What should I do if my 2015-2018 Triple E Unity, Libero, Wonder, Serenity, or Free Spirit is on this recall?
Check your VIN to confirm your specific recreational vehicle is included in recall 21V820. If it is, contact a franchised Triple E dealer to schedule the heat-deflector installation. Reference recall number 21V820 or Triple E recall CA#8721-1 when you call. The repair is free.

Yes. Federal recall law requires manufacturers to repair safety defects at no cost, and Triple E dealers will install the metal heat deflectors and screws free of charge. Parts and labor are covered for included vehicles.

The safety risk is fire. The refrigerator exhaust vent directs heat onto wood framing and surfaces, and an overheated wood frame can ignite. Until the dealer installs the heat deflectors, confirm your VIN and ask the service desk for any owner-specific instructions.
What if I bought my Triple E RV used?
The free recall repair still applies. Recall coverage follows the vehicle, not the first owner. If you never received Triple E's November 23, 2021 owner letter, check your VIN and call Triple E customer service at 1-877-992-9906 or a franchised dealer.
