Recall 21V708 covers 95,885 2019-2021 Keystone RVs with Winntec propane regulators that raise appliance flames. Repair will be free at franchised Keystone dealers once available.
Keystone is recalling 95,885 2019-2021 Bullet, Coleman, and Springdale recreational vehicles, along with other Keystone and Dutchmen models, because Winntec model 6020 two-stage propane regulators can fail and increase propane pressure. The higher pressure can enlarge gas appliance flames and increase fire risk; the dealer repair will be free once Keystone makes it available.

What's wrong?
The Winntec model 6020 two-stage propane regulator on affected 2019-2021 Keystone recreational vehicles controls propane pressure before fuel reaches the appliances. Propane leaves the onboard cylinders at changing pressure, and the regulator steps it down so the furnace, stove, refrigerator, and other propane appliances receive a steady supply.
In this recall, the second-stage valve seat inside the regulator fails to hold its seal in the right position. The seal has an inadequate mechanical lock, so it shifts out of place and stops regulating flow and pressure correctly. Plasticizer from the rubber pigtail hoses also collects inside the regulator, changing the seal material and making it easier for the seal to break down or move.
Owners can notice irregular performance from propane appliances. The smell of propane at the regulator is another warning sign, especially when the regulator vents because pressure is too high.

What's the safety risk?
Increased propane pressure can make gas-appliance flames larger than normal and raise the risk of a fire. If appliance performance is irregular or you smell propane at the regulator, shut off propane use and call the dealer before using the system again. Repair will be free at any franchised Keystone dealer once available.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2019-2021 Keystone Bullet, Coleman, Fuzion, Kodiak, Springdale, Aspen Trail, Sprinter, Summerland, Passport, Hideout, Residence, Retreat, Cougar, or Impact is included in this recall.
- Contact Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369 to confirm repair timing for your VIN before scheduling dealer service.
- Schedule the free propane-regulator replacement and leak test once Keystone confirms the remedy is open; the repair addresses the regulator failure that raises propane pressure.
- Reference recall number 21V708 and Keystone recall 21-414 when you call Keystone or the dealer.
- Avoid using gas appliances until the regulator has been inspected or replaced, since higher propane pressure increases fire risk.
What happens at the repair
The final dealer repair is not open in this record. Once available, a Keystone technician will replace the propane regulator and test the propane system for leaks. The dealer repair will be free once it opens. Keystone has a manufacturer reimbursement plan on file for this recall, and new vehicles are covered under warranty. If you already paid out of pocket for a related propane regulator repair before the recall, ask Keystone customer service at 1-866-425-4369 how to submit repair documentation under that plan.

Frequently asked questions
What is recall 21V708?
Recall 21V708 covers 95,885 2019-2021 Keystone RVs equipped with Winntec model 6020 two-stage propane regulators. The regulator can fail and raise propane pressure, which can enlarge flames in gas appliances and increase fire risk. Dealers will replace the regulator and test the propane system for leaks for free.
What should I do if my 2019-2021 Keystone RV is on this recall?
Check your VIN to confirm your specific RV is included in recall 21V708. If it is, contact a franchised Keystone dealer and ask for the propane regulator replacement and propane leak test. Reference recall number 21V708 and Keystone recall number 21-414 when you call.
Is the recall repair free?
Yes. Federal recall law requires the manufacturer to repair the defect at no cost, and Keystone says dealers will replace the regulator and test the propane system for leaks free of charge. Parts and labor are covered at a franchised Keystone dealer.
What is the safety risk with recall 21V708?
The safety risk is fire. A failed Winntec model 6020 two-stage propane regulator can increase propane pressure, which can make gas-appliance flames larger than intended. Until the repair is complete, avoid using propane appliances if you notice abnormal flame size, propane smell, or any sign of a leak.
What if I bought the Keystone RV used?
The free recall repair still applies. Recall coverage follows the RV, not the first owner. Keystone mailed owner letters on February 25, 2021, but used-vehicle owners often miss those notices. Check your VIN, then call a franchised Keystone dealer with recall number 21V708.
