Recall 21V561 affects 19 2019-2020 McLaren 720S, GT, 600LT, and 570S vehicles for a banjo bolt defect. Repair is free at any franchised McLaren dealer.
McLaren is recalling 19 2019-2020 720S, GT, 600LT, and 570S vehicles because a brake assembly banjo bolt can block brake fluid from reaching one caliper. Brake failure at one corner can pull the vehicle to one side during braking and increase crash risk; McLaren dealers will complete the repair free of charge.

What's wrong?
The brake pipe assembly on 2019-2020 McLaren 720S, GT, 600LT, and 570S vehicles carries brake fluid to the caliper at each wheel. At the end of that assembly, a banjo bolt connects the line to the caliper. The bolt has drilled holes that let pressurized brake fluid pass through when you press the pedal.
On affected McLarens, some banjo bolts were made without those fluid passages. The supplier reported that a drill bit broke and the machine sensor failed to catch it, so defective bolts went into brake pipe assemblies. If one of those bolts is installed, brake fluid does not reach that caliper correctly, and the brake on that corner can fail.
The warning sign is a pull to one side under braking. The electronic stability programme detects wheel speed and adjusts braking at other wheels to reduce the pull, but the pull still means the brake assembly needs inspection under NHTSA campaign 21V561.

A matching year and model does not guarantee inclusion. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific car is included.
What's the safety risk?
Brake failure at one wheel can make the vehicle pull to one side during braking and increase crash risk. The stability system is designed to detect wheel speed and adjust braking balance, but that does not replace inspection. Schedule the recall repair soon. Repair is free at any franchised McLaren dealer.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2019-2020 McLaren 720S, GT, 600LT, or 570S is included in this recall.
- Contact your nearest franchised McLaren dealer to schedule the free banjo-bolt inspection and replacement that restores brake-fluid flow to the caliper.
- Bring the owner letter if you have it. If not, reference recall number 21V561 and McLaren recall SRC 00 C 001 when you call.
- Drive cautiously until the repair is complete. Leave extra space when braking and stop driving if the vehicle pulls to one side.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a McLaren technician inspects the brake assembly banjo bolt and replaces it if the part is missing the fluid passages needed to supply the caliper. The recall repair is free, and parts and labor are covered. Out-of-pocket repairs already paid are handled through the existing manufacturer warranty, not through a separate reimbursement program, because the recalled vehicles remain under warranty. Ask the service desk how warranty coverage applies if you have prior brake repair paperwork.
