What's wrong?
The Safe-T-Alert RV Carbon Monoxide / Propane Gas Detector in 2020-2021 Roadtrek Play, Slumber, Zion SRT, and Zion vehicles is a small wall-mounted alarm. Its normal job is to watch for propane gas and carbon monoxide inside the living space, then sound an alarm so occupants know to get out and ventilate the coach.
On affected vehicles, Roadtrek installed the wrong detector model. The incorrect unit is a Safe-T-Alert RV Propane Alarm, which looks very similar to the correct combined carbon monoxide and propane detector but does not include carbon monoxide detection. Roadtrek traced the issue to a supplier shipment that mixed the wrong detector model with the correct model.
There is no warning sign before failure. The incorrect alarm is marked as an RV Propane Alarm, so the model label on the device is the practical clue, not a sound, light, or driving symptom.
Who's affected?
The same Safe-T-Alert RV propane alarm appears across the Play, Slumber, Zion SRT, and Zion motorhomes listed for 2020 and 2021.

What's the safety risk?
A missing carbon monoxide detector means carbon monoxide gas in the vehicle can go unnoticed, increasing the risk of injury or death. There is no warning sign before the detector fails to alert you, so arrange the free detector remedy and avoid sleeping in the vehicle until it is installed. Repair is free at any franchised Roadtrek dealer.
