Recall 21V431 affects 11,853 2017-2021 Starcraft travel trailers and fifth wheels for a propane regulator defect. Repair is free at any franchised Starcraft dealer.
Starcraft is recalling 11,853 2017-2021 travel trailers and fifth wheels, including Autumn Ridge and Mossy Oak models, because the Winntec model 6020 two-stage propane regulator can fail and raise propane pressure. Higher pressure can enlarge appliance flames and increase fire risk; Starcraft dealers will replace the regulator free of charge.

What's wrong?
The Winntec model 6020 two-stage propane regulator on these 2017-2021 Starcraft travel trailers and fifth wheels controls propane pressure before it reaches the RV appliances. It takes higher pressure from the onboard propane cylinders and steps it down so the furnace, stove, water heater, and other propane appliances receive steady fuel flow.
In affected regulators, the second-stage valve seat can move out of position because its mechanical lock is not strong enough. When that seal migrates, the regulator no longer controls propane flow and pressure correctly. The supply hoses can also release plasticizer, a liquid that collects inside the regulator body. Contact with that liquid changes the valve seal, so it degrades during use and moves out of place more easily.
Owners can notice irregular appliance performance, such as appliances that do not run normally or vary in flame behavior. A propane smell at the regulator is also a warning sign because it indicates the regulator is venting from high pressure.
