Recall 21V307 affects 261 2019-2021 Arcimoto FUV, Deliverator, Roadster, and Rapid Responder motorcycles for a steering sensor defect. Repair is free.
Arcimoto is recalling 261 of its 2019-2021 Fuv, Deliverator, Roadster, and Rapid Responder motorcycles under recall 21V307 because the Steering Angle Sensor was incorrectly calibrated and can fail to detect a fault. The inverters can then apply unequal torque, causing over steer and raising the risk of a crash. Arcimoto dealers will correct the issue free of charge.

What's wrong?
The Steering Angle Sensor on these Arcimoto motorcycles tells the vehicle which way the front wheels are pointed. The onboard computer uses that signal to balance power delivery and to manage the Kinetic Energy Recovery System, which slows the vehicle when the operator lets off the throttle. The idler arm is the steering linkage part that helps translate handlebar input into wheel angle, and it depends on a set screw holding everything in the right position.
On affected motorcycles, the idler arms were built outside the intended tolerances, and the set screw had no defined tolerance on the engineering print. Combined with the sensor being miscalibrated at the factory, the vehicle can read the steering position incorrectly. When the operator twists the throttle or uses the regenerative braking system, the motorcycle can lurch sideways without warning, which makes it hard to control.
There is no warning sign before failure. The operator gets no advance signal that unintended lateral motion is about to happen the next time the throttle or regen is used.
Who's affected?
Spans four Arcimoto three-wheel models (Fuv, Deliverator, Rapid Responder, Roadster) across the 2019, 2020, and 2021 model years, all built with the same kinetic energy recovery system steering linkage.

A matching year and model does not guarantee inclusion. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific vehicle is included in this recall.
What's the safety risk?
Unequal torque from the inverters can push the vehicle into oversteer and raise the risk of a crash. There is no warning before it happens, so a sudden lateral movement can occur the next time the throttle is twisted or KERS is used. Treat any unexpected handling change as a reason to stop riding and contact the dealer. Repair is free at any franchised Arcimoto dealer.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2019-2021 Arcimoto Fuv, Deliverator, Roadster, or Rapid Responder is included in this recall.
- Contact Arcimoto customer service at 1-541-683-6293 to arrange the free repair. Arcimoto handles this directly because the company has no dealer network.
- Schedule the firmware update and idler-arm replacement that corrects the steering-angle sensor fault behind the oversteer risk.
- Reference recall number 21V307 when you call so Arcimoto can pull your owner record quickly.
- Drive cautiously until the repair is complete, and watch for unexpected steering response.
What happens at the repair
At the service appointment, an Arcimoto technician updates the Steering Angle Sensor firmware and replaces the idler arm. Parts and labor are free under the recall. Arcimoto has no dealer or distributor network, so service is coordinated directly through Arcimoto customer service at 1-541-683-6293. If you have already paid out of pocket for a repair related to the Steering Angle Sensor or idler arm, Arcimoto's standard reimbursement plan covers documented expenses. Keep your receipts and any repair paperwork, and ask customer service how to submit them when you arrange the recall service.

Frequently asked questions
What is recall 21V307?
Recall 21V307 covers 261 2019-2021 Arcimoto FUV, 2020 Deliverator, 2020-2021 Roadster, and 2021 Rapid Responder motorcycles with an incorrectly calibrated Steering Angle Sensor. The fault can cause the inverters to apply unequal torque, leading to oversteer. Arcimoto will update the firmware and replace the idler arm for free.
What should I do if my 2019-2021 Arcimoto FUV, Deliverator, Roadster, or Rapid Responder is on this recall?
Check your VIN to confirm your specific vehicle is included in recall 21V307. If it is, contact Arcimoto customer service at 1-541-683-6293 to arrange the firmware update and idler arm replacement. Reference recall number 21V307 when you call. The repair is free.
Is the recall repair free?
Yes. Federal recall law requires manufacturers to repair safety defects at no cost to the owner. An Arcimoto service technician will update the Steering Angle Sensor firmware and replace the idler arm free of charge. Arcimoto does not have dealers or distributors, so the work is handled directly through Arcimoto customer service.
What is the safety risk?
If the Steering Angle Sensor fails to detect or incorrectly detects a fault, the inverters can apply unequal torque to the wheels. That uneven torque causes oversteer, which increases the risk of a crash. The firmware update and idler arm replacement address the underlying calibration and steering linkage issue.
What if I bought my Arcimoto used?
The free repair still applies. Federal recall law requires manufacturers to honor the recall regardless of ownership history. If Arcimoto never mailed you a notice, check your VIN to confirm your vehicle is included in recall 21V307, then call Arcimoto customer service at 1-541-683-6293 to schedule the work.
