What's wrong?
The wheel-hub cap on the 2019-2020 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT63 and AMG GT53 is the cover at the center of the wheel. It protects and finishes the hub area, and on these vehicles it also carries the Mercedes-Benz emblem. It is supposed to stay locked in place through normal vibration, road impact, and wheel rotation.
On included vehicles, a supplier production deviation left a batch of wheel-hub caps outside specification. That means the cap does not hold to the wheel as designed. During driving, road forces and rotation can work the cap loose until it detaches from the wheel.
There is no warning sign before failure. An owner is unlikely to feel a change from the driver's seat before a cap separates, so the issue can show up as a missing wheel-hub cap after a trip.
Who's affected?
Covers both AMG GT53 and AMG GT63 across the 2019 and 2020 model years, all tied to the same wheel-hub cap.

The year and model narrow the scope, but the VIN decides. Check your VIN to confirm whether your specific car is included.
What's the safety risk?
A detached wheel-hub cap becomes a road hazard and increases the risk of a crash or injury for other road users. There is no advance warning before a cap detaches, so schedule the repair soon if your VIN is included. Repair is free at any franchised Mercedes-Benz dealer.
What should I do?
- Check your VIN to confirm your 2019-2020 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT63 or AMG GT53 vehicle is included in this recall.
- Contact a franchised Mercedes-Benz dealer to schedule the free wheel-hub-cap replacement that addresses caps that can detach and become a road hazard.
- Bring the recall notice if Mercedes-Benz mailed one. If not, reference recall number 20V800 when you call.
- Limit driving until the repair is complete if you see a loose or missing wheel-hub cap.
What happens at the repair
At the dealer, a Mercedes-Benz technician replaces the wheel-hub caps covered by the recall. Parts and labor are free under the recall, and the repair is available now. Out-of-pocket repairs already paid are handled through the new vehicle warranty, not through a separate reimbursement program. Mercedes-Benz says these vehicles remained under that warranty and were not previously subject to this condition. Ask the service desk how warranty coverage applies if you have prior repair paperwork.
